The panel will go over the Facebook Local Alerts and Nextdoor Emergency Alerts systems and their features, and how public agencies can best leverage these tools.

“The ongoing shift in our digital world has forced public agencies to adjust how they reach residents in times of crisis. Plus, here in California, we seem to be seeing crises more than ever,” Ryder said. “Dan and Janelle’s insights on digital emergency alerts will leave attendees with a new knowledge on how to spread emergency messaging to residents quickly.”
