City of Oakley Taps TS for Brand Refresh and Style Guide
In May 2022, the City of Oakley tapped Tripepi Smith to revamp its branding standards with a refresh and creation of a style guide at a glance. Oakley set out to refresh key aspects of its brand, clarify existing styles and create resources that staff could use to implement the new brand in their communications work.
“The City of Oakley is pleased with the outcome of our branding effort with Tripepi Smith,” said Josh McMurray, City Manager of the City of Oakley “The deliverables were thorough and have modernized our City’s brand, bringing our visual identity up to speed with the state of the community today. The guidelines and comprehensive resources have also supported staff in producing future content in line with our new style guide parameters. We are very pleased with the end results.”
The effort was led by Senior Business Analyst Saara Lampwalla, and Creative Director Kevin Bostwick, with further assistance from Business Analyst Kaetlyn Hernandez.
Leveraging the “1-page high-level style guide” previously created by staff, the team produced an updated and expanded style guide that defines the City’s brand personality with fonts, colors, logos and standardized templates. Along with curating Oakley’s updated brand, Tripepi Smith also produced brand new staff reports, press release templates, a letterhead, sublogo options and social media templates.
“Clean, cohesive branding helps residents engage positively with important community information. I enjoyed building out brand deliverables that reflect the City of Oakley’s friendly atmosphere,” said Kevin. “I will enjoy seeing how Oakley builds on the foundation of their new style guide and brand assets to add impact to materials across the organization.”
Tripepi Smith has delivered branding projects, including logos, style guides and website redesigns for the City of Cupertino, City of San Leandro, City of Livermore, Inland Empire Utilities Agency, City of Norwalk, MuniEnvironmental and Clean Energy Alliance, among others.
