Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith will be speaking on the importance of cultivating culture in the workplace at the League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference in Sacramento, CA on September 23 at 12:15 PM.

In this speed session, Ryder will reflect on his experiences managing the growing Tripepi Smith team that has been following the work-from-home model for six years, and assisting cities with defining and enhancing culture through Tripepi Smith’s recruitment consultancy division, TS Talent Solutions. “Why Culture Curation Matters Now More Than Ever” will also include a run-down on how curating culture can benefit your agency and result in success.

“Having the ability to drive culture and build strong teams is important for all organizations,” Ryder commented. “The Tripepi Smith team has grown tremendously in the past year; half the team was hired during the pandemic. With a purely virtual work environment, it has been essential that we use innovative ways to create team camaraderie to boost morale and productivity.”

Ryder will provide insight on how culture can create recruitment advantages and attract the right talent, grow your team, and keep your team motivated to do the impossible. His discussion will cover several ways to embrace culture, such as:

  • Fostering an environment for leadership and learning
  • Curating face-to-face team building opportunities, not forcing them
  • Building trust within your team
  • Celebrating culture and making your workplace an environment that employees enjoy being in
  • Providing your team with the tools to be successful

“It is my hope that attendees will leave this session with a clear understanding on the significance of culture curation and will be motivated to build on this within their own agencies,” added Ryder.

If you are unable to catch Ryder at his session, he will also be moderating “Stories of the Census: What It Says About California’s Future” on September 24 at 11 AM where National Demographics Corporation President Douglas Johnson will dive deep into the 2020 Census data.

About Cal Cities

The League of California Cities has been shaping the Golden State’s political landscape since the association was founded in 1898. We defend and expand local control through advocacy efforts in the Legislature, at the ballot box, in the courts, and through strategic outreach that informs and educates the public, policymakers, and opinion leaders. Cal Cities also offers education and training programs designed to teach city officials about new developments in their field and exchange solutions to common challenges facing their cities.
