City of Hawaiian Gardens Enlists Team TS for Prop 218 Outreach Support
The City of Hawaiian Gardens tapped Tripepi Smith to provide communications and outreach support for Prop 218, a proposition approved by the Hawaiian Gardens City Council to increase rates for Solid Waste Service Fees for all residential, commercial and industrial properties receiving solid waste services in the City.
Tripepi Smith assisted the City by hosting community meetings, producing postcards and mailers, creating social media content, writing press releases and designing and creating content for a Prop 218-specific website.
“Approving the increased rates for Solid Waste Service Fees was crucial in allowing our waste hauler to maintain the service levels that residents have come to expect, as well as meet new State requirements,” said City Manager Ernesto Marquez. “Tripepi Smith’s team came in with extensive knowledge to assist us with outreach for Prop 218 and helped us reach our community with this important information.”
President Ryder Todd Smith, Director Jon Barilone and Senior Business Analyst Bria Balliet led the effort with Art Director Kevin Bostwick, Senior Graphic Designer Kjerstin Wingert, Business Analysts Clare Burgess and Sara Madsen and Junior Business Analyst Kylie Benzing working together to create and implement a plan for effective outreach communications.
“The City of Hawaiian Gardens was determined to maintain open engagement with their community and keep them informed about the reasoning behind the rate changes,” said Bria. “Our team is honored to help the City with its outreach efforts and assist in providing effective communication to its community.”
