CCCA SLOTStarting January 7, 2019, Tripepi Smith will be in Sacramento for the 52nd annual State Legislative Orientation Tour (SLOT) of the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA).

The three-day event places CCCA and select members and partners in the room with California legislators and constitutional officers. In a series of discussions and informational sessions, the elected leader members of CCCA will interact directly with legislative leaders, surfacing the legislative priorities of contract cities while learning about the priorities of the legislature.

Tripepi Smith’s President Ryder Todd Smith and resident Graphic Designer and Photographer Kjerstin Nichter will join the Association for the trip. This is Ryder’s eighth time attending SLOT since 2011 and Kjerstin’s third time attending SLOT as a photographer for CCCA. Tripepi Smith has captured photos from SLOT for six years.

“SLOT has become a part of my ritual for kicking off the new year. It’s a key component of Contract Cities’ intergovernmental relations efforts and an important opportunity for elected officials and city staff to share their voices with members of the legislature and governor’s office,” said Ryder. “SLOT is an important annual event for Contract Cities and our presence helps with our client work across several cities.”

About the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA)

CCCA is a collection of member cities united for a common cause. Born in 1957 as the direct result of the “Lakewood Plan”, CCCA grew from eight contracting or member cities to 70 member cities today with more than seven million residents. Membership growth remains one of the main priorities of the Association. CCCA serves as a rallying point for cities contracting for municipal services to ensure constituents receive the best service at the minimum cost. Through municipal seminars, education, and exchange of ideas and information, CCCA combines resources to influence policy decisions that affect member cities.
