CA JPIA risk forum teamTeam Tripepi Smith’s Principal Katherine Griffiths and Business Analysts Cailyn Thompson and Nolan Voge will learn, connect and support marketing efforts during the 28th Annual California Joint Powers Insurance Authority (California JPIA) Risk Management Educational Forum, “It’s Like Totally Risk Management,” August 30–September 1 in Carlsbad.

Katherine and Cailyn will attend sessions, researching a series of nine thought leadership articles for the Authority’s monthly member newsletter, and Nolan will document conference activities, sessions and attendees through photo coverage. This is the third year that Tripepi Smith has provided either photography or videography services for the event.

In preparation for the event, the California JPIA called on Tripepi Smith for a third time to produce their signature Capstone Award finalist video series. The Capstone Award is presented annually to the member agency risk manager who has best exemplified the practice of risk management. Tripepi Smith’s video team partnered with the California JPIA’s regional risk managers to film in five locations: the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District and the cities of Buellton, Lawndale, Pacific Grove and Rolling Hills Estates. Director Cameron Grimm provided creative direction and project management support; Junior Business Analyst Audrin Baghaie and Business Analyst Nolan Voge traveled alongside Principal Katherine Griffiths to capture the stories of the high-achieving nominees; and Junior Business Analyst Daniel Ceruti edited the footage into cohesive stories that will be shared during the award ceremony at the Forum.

“Great job,” said Ryan Thomas, Capstone video project manager and senior training specialist for the California JPIA. “The videos are really good and the combined file is perfect for playing during the awards. I look forward to seeing the smiles these videos generate on the big day!”

The Forum provides an elite educational opportunity for members of the Authority to learn from subject matter experts and to share experiences and lessons learned with one another. This year’s event—sponsored by Tripepi Smith at the El Capitan level—will focus on legal liability, workers’ compensation, employment law, public safety, organizational thinking, governance and legislation.

“I am proud to represent Tripepi Smith at my fifth consecutive California JPIA Risk Management Educational Forum,” said Katherine. “Supporting this exemplary educational event not only provides learning opportunities that help our team better serve our client, but also demonstrates Tripepi Smith’s commitment to helping the California JPIA maintain its position as the premier risk management pool for California municipal agencies.”
