Socwa2The South Orange County Wastewater Authority (SOCWA) has a new face on the Internet at www.socwa.com. The Authority has launched a new WordPress-powered website built by Tripepi Smith. The new site features sweeping imagery and easy navigation to help SOCWA better explain its role to the residents and businesses it serves throughout South Orange County.

“Launching a new website is an important part of SOCWA’s transparency efforts and community education goals. SOCWA’s role in protecting the environment while delivering critical wastewater treatment services in a cost-effective manner requires that we communicate with a broad audiences of stakeholders,” said Betty Burnett, General Manager at SOCWA. “Tripepi Smith delivered our new website in a timely fashion and with a comprehensive process that met our exact communication goals. Our staff will have a much easier time managing the website, and our ability to tell SOCWA’s story has been greatly enhanced. Working with Tripepi Smith has been a thoroughly rewarding and painless process.”

The new website is powered by the open source WordPress content management system. The platform provides one of the most intuitive user interfaces to easily manage content, while avoiding proprietary lock-in that many other public agency website solutions require. The result is that SOCWA staff can easily  manage and update the website. The new site replaces a outdated SOCWA website that had a challenging content management process and a  non-responsive design for mobile devices.

“SOCWA does great work to protect the environment in Orange County, but their old website fell short of conveying that message, while also being difficult to manage. The SOCWA staff and team at GreyComm had a strong vision for what they wanted to achieve with the new site, and that made implementation much easier,” said Ryder Todd Smith, President at Tripepi Smith. “The release of this site continues our success in delivering water and wastewater agency website over the past four years.”

South Orange County Wastewater Authority’s mission is to collect, treat, beneficially reuse and dispose of wastewater in a manner that protects and respects the environment, maintains the public’s health, and meets local, state and federal regulations.
