Tripepi Smith’s Always-Be-Learning (#ABL) culture drives us to stay up to speed on constantly changing social media platforms. This knowledge empowers our team to track, interpret and adapt to the latest and greatest social media trends on behalf of the public agencies we serve. The following is the latest installment of our regular roundup of social media news you need to know:

  1. Instagram now allows pinned posts to be added to profiles. Users can create a banner at the top of their page to promote and show what the page is to viewers immediately. This update allows for both posts and Reels to be pinned, giving users a range of considerations to maximize the appeal of their page.
  2. Twitter has expanded its Professional Profile tools with the addition of a  “location spotlight” feature. With the location spotlight, businesses can add a location to the top of their page right beneath the bio. This can be helpful for city clients to easily let people know where important offices are located.
  3. YouTube has added a new element called the “corrections” feature, allowing clips to be edited without having to re-upload an entire video. This will help users save time and add context to any evolving, news-related videos.
  4. You can now boost LinkedIn events through ads. Similar to boosting events in Facebook, the new LinkedIn feature helps marketers expand their reach. Users can see how many people saw or interacted with the boosted post.
  5. Facebook users can now create Reels from their already existing videos by using Creator Studio. This will allow content to be repurposed and re-shared by taking the best parts of videos and turning them into Reels.
