Tripepi Smith Assists Scripps College with the 2022 Fall Issue of Scripps Magazine
Scripps College, a private women’s liberal arts college and member of The Claremont Colleges, called on Tripepi Smith to deliver the Fall 2022 edition of Scripps magazine. The magazine, published semiannually, highlights important developments in college news and showcases the stellar achievements of its students, staff, faculty and alumnae. Tripepi Smith previously partnered with Scripps to proofread the Spring 2022 issue.
“It’s been a pleasure collaborating with Tripepi Smith on multiple projects this year, including the Scripps Magazine, and we appreciate their thought partnership and expertise,” said Scripps College director of creative and editorial strategy Maureen Panos.
This fall, Principal Katherine Griffiths and Business Analyst Claire Torza have supported content development and editorial management for the 48-page publication.
Griffiths, who brings 24 years of experience writing and editing print periodicals, previously was publications editor and director of creative services for Claremont McKenna College (CMC). Among other duties, she developed and edited CMC’s award-winning quarterly magazine.
Together, Griffiths and Torza have provided Scripps with strategic guidance, project workflow management, editorial and creative direction, copyediting and production support. Griffiths also wrote a feature article welcoming Scripps College’s 10th president, Suzanne Keen, as well as the message “From the President” on cultivating empathy. Additionally, Tripepi Smith Junior Business Analyst Nolan Voge photographed three on-campus dance performances for the issue’s “Focus on the Faculty” and “Seen & Heard” departments.
Before diving into the project, Griffiths and Torza familiarized themselves with Scripps’s preferred work environment, Asana, a project management system that helps improve teams’ communication, organization and efficiency.
“Tripepi Smith prioritizes exploring new technologies that make our work more efficient and our work product better for our clients,” said Torza. “We are grateful for the opportunity not only to collaborate with Scripps but also to learn a new method for staying connected, organized and on time.”
Tripepi Smith has provided support for two additional projects for Scripps: Junior Business Analyst Eldon Shih produced a promotional video for the Schuler Access Initiative, a scholarship program serving underrepresented students. Also, Torza stepped in to monitor Scripps’s social media channels.
Scripps is the fifth higher education institution among Tripepi Smith’s clients. The firm previously has partnered with Western University of Health Sciences, Claremont McKenna College, California State University San Marcos and California Institute of the Arts on strategic communication, branding, design and writing projects.
