San Joaquin County OES LogoIn August 2023, the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services (SJCOES) began a one-year contract with Tripepi Smith for outreach and design services to inform and educate its community about flood preparedness.

As part of SJCOES’ commitment to transparent community communications to expand their reach, the organization enlisted Team Tripepi Smith’s expertise to run ads across various outlets including multiple social media platforms, Google, YouTube, radio, billboards and magazines leading up to and during Flood Preparedness Week.

Led by Tripepi Smith Senior Business Analyst Melanie James and Junior Business Analyst Amy Gallagher, the team created a budget, marketing plan, wrote copy and scripts for the various ads, designed all materials and coordinated production with vendors. Director Cameron Grimm also worked alongside the team to develop an informative and engaging animated flood preparedness video

“Our team effectively communicates with our residents by mobilizing an arsenal of outreach methods,” explained Tiffany Cacho, SJCOES’ Deputy Director of Emergency Services. “Achieving the lofty goal of educating and preparing all who live within our jurisdiction is no small task. Team Tripepi Smith did an excellent job taking the lead on the many ads we wanted to produce to inform our community. Their collaborative and detail-orientated approach ensured everything went smoothly.”

The team also had to verify the County’s Facebook page prior to running ads. Tripepi Smith took the reins to coordinate with Facebook and the County in a quick, effective way to get the ads up and running.

“Working with SJCOES has been a pleasure,” shared Melanie. “Their team is passionate about what they do and throughout the engagement, were very collaborative and responsive to ensure all materials were approved for Flood Preparedness Week. Together, our teams delivered a successful disaster preparedness campaign to all of San Joaquin County.

Tripepi Smith looks forward to working with SJCOES on future community outreach opportunities.
