Tripepi Smith Completes Rebranding Project for Pivot Charter School
Pivot Charter School, an accredited public charter school with four campuses in California, has a new look thanks to a comprehensive rebranding by Tripepi Smith in honor of its 10th anniversary.
“Pivot’s vision has always been to give all students a chance to succeed, regardless of their backgrounds or learning abilities,” said Jim Lewis, founder of Pivot Charter School and chairman of the Roads Education Organization. “The new brand embodies the hope, passion and flexibility our schools offer and acts as a fresh start in our 10th year of operation. Tripepi Smith has consistently produced quality work that has had a visible result across our schools and within our student bodies over the many years we’ve worked with them. We are thrilled with the products of our latest venture with the team.”
Tripepi Smith collaborated with Pivot board members, staff, teachers, parents and students to develop a brand identity that reflects the school’s mission and values. Tapping into the tactful visionaries of Tripepi Smith MVPs, such as Art Director Kevin Bostwick and Senior Graphic Artist Kjerstin Wingert, the team produced a detailed color scheme, style guide and logo package. Director Katherine Griffiths also guided the creative process and developed Pivot’s new brand statement:

The new logo is a symbol of Pivot’s dedication to offer its diverse student body freedom, something the traditional structured classroom cannot always give. Pivot’s new tagline, “Learn More. Struggle Less.” also encapsulates the school’s mission to ensure each student succeeds, regardless of how or where they learn best.
Tripepi Smith has supported Pivot Charter School since 2013 with a variety of communications services. Following the release of a promotional video produced by Tripepi Smith in 2019, Jayna Gaskell, executive director of Pivot Charter School, called Tripepi Smith “an outstanding partner.” On the team’s merits, Ms. Gaskell continued: “They understand our mission and our vision, and their quality work has helped us successfully reach more families.”
Pivot Charter School serves the communities and surrounding areas of San Diego, Sonoma, Riverside and Butte Counties. Its hybrid approach to education combines in-person instruction with online tutoring and small group classes to meet the unique needs of each student. Pivot’s online offerings position them well to work through challenges posed by the COVID-19 crisis.
