League of California Cities Putnam Awards Enhanced with TS Video

Tripepi Smith produced a recognition video for the League of California Cities’ Putnam Award ceremony that occurred at the League’s Annual Conference in Long Beach. The video, crafted from content submitted by winning agencies, effectively conveys the innovative services that each winning city has delivered for their residents. The Helen Putnam Award for Excellence, named in honor of the League’s first female president, is the organization’s recognition of city achievements in community improvement. Awards are given each year during the League’s Annual Conference & Expo, which was held this year Oct. 5-7 in Long Beach.

Seeking to elevate the award presentation for its live audience and award winners, the League turned to Tripepi Smith to help execute a strategy to improve the recognition. The League requested a video honoring the winning cities, which Tripepi Smith executed. Tripepi Smith coordinated with the winners to identify available photos and video that could be used to help explain the nature of their winning programs. Additionally, Tripepi Smith scripted the summary statements for each winning city and provided professional narration services to complete the high quality production. The footage, narration and visual elements were seamlessly weaved together to create an effective and efficient awards video.

“The League is proud of all our Putnam Award recipients and the impact they have had on their communities. This year we wanted to enhance the award presentation during our conference while creating a professionally produced video that these winning cities could use to tell and celebrate the story of their success and the impact on their residents,” said Eva Spiegel, director of communications for the League. “Tripepi Smith understands local government and how to tell a compelling story, so they were an obvious partner for the League. The video Tripepi Smith created exceeded our expectations, and we are already planning to work with the firm in 2017 to make next year’s Putnam celebration even more memorable.”

“The League of California Cities plays a critical role in sharing best practices and helping cities learn from each other. The Putnam Award process is a chance to highlight cities that are making a difference in their communities. Tripepi Smith was thrilled to be called upon by the League to be a part of telling this story,” said Ryder Todd Smith, President at Tripepi Smith. “We are working on the 2017 plans now and look forward to another successful award ceremony next year.”
