Principal Katherine Griffiths Attending CAPIO’s Emergency Communications Academy
Tripepi Smith Principal Katherine Griffiths, APR, will attend the California Association of Public Information Officials (CAPIO) Emergency Communications Academy in Folsom from June 13-14.
The CAPIO Emergency Communications Academy provides attendees with hands-on training on handling risk and crisis communications. During the Academy, attendees will learn about leading during a crisis, working with multiple agencies during emergencies and combating misinformation.
Attendees will be onsite at the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) State Operations Center (SOC) in Mather. The SOC is a central command and control facility responsible for carrying out the principles of emergency management and disaster management at a statewide strategic level during an emergency and ensuring California’s continuity of operations.
