TS Designs a Style Guide “Cheat Sheet” for Culver City Staff

After Culver City noted some graphic inconsistencies with in-house posters, flyers and emails it was creating, they requested Tripepi Smith’s help in standardizing the look of their communications. The solution was to deliver a brief design style reference guide for Culver City’s staff and also recreate a vector version of the City seal for future needs.City of Culver City

The effort was led by Jon Barilone, director at Tripepi Smith, and Kjerstin Nichter, graphic designer for Tripepi Smith. The team worked with City Staff to pinpoint essential items in the City’s existing 43-page style guide from 2002 and create the two-page “At-a-Glance Style Guide.” The guide acts as a resource for staff to have easy access to standard branding information such as color usage, city logotype and seals, typography, and more. The resource also includes a “Writing Style Guide” to standardize treatment of dates, times, technical terms, etc.

“We always appreciate when our clients care about the details that go into making communications look good, such as proper treatment of logos and seals, typography and color palettes,” said Jon. “This reference guide will be an effective tool in promoting consistency and professionalism in the visual presentation of materials produced by staff.”
