The City of La Verne has hired Tripepi Smith for a two year communications engagement following a competitive bidding process. With a unanimous vote of approval affirming the City Staff recommendation, the City of La Verne will extend Tripepi Smith’s five-month long communications contract for an additional two years. The scope of work includes communications planning, social media management, metrics reporting, article and press release development and crisis communications support.

“Our City Council expressed a desire to improve community outreach and engagement in mid-2020, and – in the midst of a pandemic – based on recommendations from other city’s I contacted Tripepi Smith to provide some immediate assistance. Since the firm understood local government and had sixty city clients they had worked with, they were able to hit the ground running,” commented City Manager Bob Russi. “We subsequently completed a competitive bidding process for a long term engagement, and following that process, we again concluded Tripepi Smith was the best firm for the City to continue to engage to take our communication in the right direction.”

Tripepi Smith has a strong San Gabriel Valley presence, having worked with the cities of Claremont, Azusa, Duarte, Walnut, La Cañada Flintridge and Industry. Adding La Verne to the list of city clients further cements Tripepi Smith’s role as the leading city government communications consulting firm in the Valley. The firm is unique in being able to deliver both public affairs services and full graphic design and video production services – combining creativity and strategy under a single “virtual” roof.

The City of La Verne engagement is led by Senior Business Analyst Emily Mason with assistance from Junior Business Analyst Clare Burgess.

“La Verne is a great community with passionate residents who care a lot about the future. The pandemic has only enhanced that reality, and strong city communications are a critical component to successfully and proactively address community concerns,” observed Emily. “City Staff has been clear about the need for transparency and to get as much information into the public domain as possible. Our partnership has already yielded improved results, and I am honored and excited to be invited back to extend our engagement for two more years.”
