Clean Energy Alliance Renews Multi-Year Contract with Tripepi Smith
On July 1, 2023, Tripepi Smith extended its partnership with Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) providing extensive marketing and communications support through June 2025. Under the renewed contract, Tripepi Smith will continue to deliver a full range of support, including communications strategy, new program rollout communications, website content management, social media management, email marketing, press release writing, graphic design support and more.
Tripepi Smith assumed its role as Clean Energy Alliance’s primary marketing and communications partner at CEA’s inception in 2019, where TS collaborated with staff to launch CEA’s brand, implement strategic messaging to position CEA in the San Diego energy market and support CEA’s expansion to seven member cities. Today, the Tripepi Smith team leverages a wide array of platforms to tell the CEA story and effectively communicate with current and prospective customers about their services.
“Our organization offers alternative energy generation to community members throughout north San Diego County and is a nuanced and ever-evolving service,” said CEO of Clean Energy Alliance Barbara Boswell. “The energy market is highly technical and difficult for most customers to fully grasp. From the start, our team and Tripepi Smith have worked to simplify and clearly explain concepts to effectively empower customers with the knowledge and tools to navigate their energy options.”
Leading the engagement is Senior Business Analyst Sara Madsen, with project management support from Senior Business Analyst Karen Villasenor and day-to-day communications support from Junior Business Analysts Kendall Lowery and Kiran Kruse.
“I have had the pleasure of working with Clean Energy Alliance since its founding, and enjoyed seeing CEA expand,” said Sara Madsen. “Partnering with the Clean Energy Alliance not only allows us to share our expertise and support, but learn and explore new communication solutions in the world of energy.”
Tripepi Smith supports communications work in the community choice aggregator industry including the California Community Choice Association, California Choice Energy Authority, Energy for Palmdale’s Independent Choice, Pico Rivera Innovative Municipal Energy and Pomona Choice Energy.
About Clean Energy Alliance
Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) follows a community choice energy (CCE) model that allows local governments to purchase power to meet their community’s electricity needs, offering an alternative to investor-owned utilities. CEA offers competitive prices and clean energy options while reinvesting revenues into projects and programs that benefit members’ communities.
CEA was established through a multi-agency partnership. This model enables local governments to purchase and manage their community’s energy supply. While CEA is locally operated, they work in partnership with the region’s existing investor-owned utility: CEA procures the electricity while the local IOU continues to deliver energy, maintain the grid, provide billing services and handle all new service requests and emergencies.
