In September of 2023, the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority (California JPIA) tasked Tripepi Smith with the creation of a staff recruitment video. The minute-long video was composed of interview footage captured by the Tripepi Smith videography team in the spring of 2022, in which California JPIA staff talked about some of the reasons that they love working on the Authority team.

“Our ongoing partnership with the California JPIA has created a robust line of communication and deep insight into the risk management space,” said Tripepi Smith Principal Katherine Griffiths. “We are always happy to expand on the projects that we collaborate on, especially when we’re able to involve our skilled video team.”

The video featured a wide variety of California JPIA staff, including Insurance Programs Manager Jim Thyden, Finance Director Jason McBride, Training Coordinator Michelle Aguayo and Senior Risk Manager Abraham Han. The testimonials about working on the California JPIA team were accompanied by shots of the Authority’s striking La Palma campus.

Tripepi Smith Junior Business Analyst Audrin Baghaie curated and edited the recruitment video clips, creating a fluid and succinct product. Katherine, Director Cameron Grimm and Business Analyst Cailyn Thompson provided creative direction throughout the production process. California JPIA Communications Director Olga Berdial and Management Analyst Courtney Morrison provided further edits and key industry insight.

This recruitment video was targeted at filling several positions at the Authority, including risk services director and campus maintenance worker roles. As of February 2024, both positions have been filled. If the California JPIA chooses to revamp hiring efforts in the future, this recruitment video is positioned for easy reuse or reinterpretation.

“The Tripepi Smith team knows how to make staff comfortable in front of the camera,” said Berdial. “When we partner with their videography team, we are confident they will deliver a clean, compelling communication.
