Alex Applegate Joins Tripepi SmithTripepi Smith welcomes Alexandra Applegate as a junior business analyst, effective January 2nd. Alex’s passion for storytelling, branding and news will help her serve Tripepi Smith and its clients. With her arrival at the firm, Tripepi Smith now total 20 associates who are ready to serve over 100 Tripepi Smith clients.

“I am really excited to join Tripepi Smith so I can use my love of writing, communications and helping people to work for clients and my teammates,” Alex said. “My passion for local government was sparked during an internship with Lake Forest. Now at Tripepi Smith I get to work with dozens and dozens of cities across California to help them communicate.”

During her time as a public information intern for the City of Lake Forest, Alex focused on analyzing and growing the city’s social media presence and helped triple the City’s Instagram following during her time on staff. She also designed graphics for social media and the City’s newsletters as well as helped plan and execute large-scale initiatives for the City.

Most recently, Alex worked as a general assignment reporter at the Daily Journal where she wrote recurring columns for its various publications, managed online sections of the newspaper and wrote features on high-profile attorneys.

As an undergraduate student, Alex worked on her university’s newspaper, the Banner, ending her time on staff as editor-in-chief. While managing and supervising a staff of more than 25 students, she led her school’s publication to more than 20 awards – three of which the program had never received before.

Alex earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations with a minor in Spanish from California Baptist University.
