Tripepi Smith Delivers Morgan Hill Communications Assessment

The City of Morgan Hill has taken receipt of a Tripepi Smith Communications Assessment report. The project, initiated by the City’s Communications and Engagement Manager, sought to help the City enhance an already robust communications program and identify opportunities for greater engagement and transparency. In completing this assessment, Morgan Hill joins several other cities that underwent this improvement process, including Cupertino, Saratoga, Livermore and Norwalk.

Like many cities, Morgan Hill is working hard to keep up with the public’s preferred method to engage with their government. The fast pace of change often means that an outside set of eyes can help City Staff identify opportunities to utilize existing assets to create greater efficiency or simply deliver more information to residents. A key mantra of Tripepi Smith’s philosophy is to help cities “go where the people already are.”

“Morgan Hill is dedicated to engagement and transparency for the community we serve, but we also recognize that an outside perspective can help us improve. Tripepi Smith brings a wealth of experience working with public agencies from across California and delivers their ideas within the context of the specific needs and capabilities of Morgan Hill,” said Maureen Tobin, Communications and Engagement Manager for the City of Morgan Hill.

Tripepi Smith’s Communications Assessment service offers public agencies a holistic evaluation of their current communication activities and identifies areas for improvement to better engage residents, further expand transparency, and more effectively connect with disconnected community cohorts. At the conclusion of the process, the City receives an extensive report with documentation of existing processes and actionable steps to take to improve engagement.

“Morgan Hill is a gem of a city with a wonderful downtown, great dining options, and excellent accessibility to the hustle of the Bay Area despite its more rural feel. In some ways, it is the best of Silicon Valley. After interviewing dozens of staff, council members and residents, we found actively engaged community members and a council and city staff who all share a common mission to enhance the overall community. Moreover, all of these groups–and much of the city–are bound together by an amazing central community athletic facility,” said Ryder Todd Smith, President at Tripepi Smith.
