2021 and 2022 saw a huge wave of redistricting efforts across cities in California. The process was demanding, but with the work now nearly complete, now is a good time to reflect on the lessons learned so local government can do even better in 2031 and 2032 during the next redistricting cycle.
Tripepi Smith and NDC are collaborating to gather a complete set of post-redistricting data to help the California city government community.
We have surveyed over 140 cities collecting information on the redistricting process’ common challenges, various approaches and other areas of interest. The final report from this survey will be published and made available to all cities to provide important benchmark measures for the redistricting process.
