Tripepi Smith Partners With CaUFC, WCA And Taylor Guitars To Promote The AMPlifying The Urban Forest Event
On March 12th, 2022, 27 municipal agencies across California came together to plant nearly 2,000 trees during the AMPlifying the Urban Forest event.
Hosted by California Urban Forest Council (CaUFC), West Coast Arborists (WCA), Taylor Guitars, the Western Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (WCISA) and the Britton Fund, this event engaged communities that lack tree canopy coverage to celebrate their urban forest and learn the benefits of trees for community wellness.
Tripepi Smith was enlisted by CaUFC in October 2021 to begin conducting public outreach and municipal coordination for AMPlifying the Urban Forest. Deliverables for this engagement included: an editorial calendar, graphic design support, social media management, article production, email marketing, video news releases and standardized press releases for participating municipal agencies. The outreach led to a successful turnout of around 1,300 volunteers who spent the day planting trees and celebrating their urban forest.
“We are very grateful for all the work the Tripepi Smith team did to help make AMPlifying the Urban Forest a great success,” said CaUFC Executive Director Nancy J. Hughes. “They implemented a comprehensive and proactive communications effort that supported CaUFC’s brand and engaged the public well.”
During the event, volunteers had the opportunity to win an acoustic guitar generously donated by Taylor Guitars. Taylor Guitars partners with West Coast Arborists, Inc., to source reclaimed urban wood for a few editions of their guitars from city trees that have had to be removed due to age or safety concerns.
“Our part to play in this large and exciting endeavor was bringing government and marketing expertise to the table,” said Business Analyst Sara Madsen. “By leveraging this, we empowered CaUFC and all of their municipal partners to invite their community members into a larger urban forestry movement – it was a rewarding project to be a part of.”
