Ryder Heads to WCMA Summer Conference to Speak on Lessons Learned in the Virtual Workforce

  |   News   |   No comment

Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith is heading to Washington to attend the Washington City/County Management Association (WCMA) Summer Conference and to share his experiences managing a remote workforce. It will be Ryder’s fourth year attending the conference. Additionally, Tripepi Smith is financially supporting the conference.

“Prior to the pandemic, a virtual workforce was a novel idea that many public agencies did not believe could happen. Then it became a necessity. Now, we find ourselves in a world where managing a virtual organization is likely part of the long term future,” Ryder commented. “Tripepi Smith’s team has grown from four to 34 since going entirely virtual in 2014. Our team has a lot of lessons learned from this experience. I look forward to sharing my leadership and management insights with the Washington city manager community as they navigate this new territory.”

Tripepi Smith serves as an example of how to manage a virtual workforce successfully while maintaining a strong team culture. Ryder will reflect on his experiences with remote work and what can come from it, and will dive deep into the fundamentals of building organizational culture. “Managing a Virtual Workforce: Lessons from the Trenches” will leave attendees with a clear understanding of how to motivate a virtual team to increase productivity and garner results for public agencies.

The WCMA Summer Conference is scheduled for August 10, 2021 to August 13, 2021 in Blaine, Washington. The event will feature sessions on topics relating to the future of the workforce, polarization and incivility in politics, racial justice, women in leadership and more. Tripepi Smith is proud to be a Gold Sponsor for the WCMA Summer Conference.
