Tripepi Smith Senior Business Analyst Jon Barilone recently completed the two-day Executive Education (EXED) Forum for Public Policy for Local Leaders, conducted by the University of Southern California’s Judith and John Bedrosian Center on Governance and the Public Enterprise. Local government leaders from throughout the state, many of them City Councilmembers, made up the ninth cohort of the EXED Forum for Local Leaders.

Though the workshop is primarily targeted toward mayors, council members, and special district board members, the Bedrosian Center extended an invitation to Tripepi Smith to participate due to the firm’s consistent involvement in the local government space. “The more we can get local government leaders on the same page in terms of information and vision, the better,” said Frank Zerunyan, Director of the Executive Education Forum for Policy at USC Price. “That also applies to firms such as Tripepi Smith, who we know works closely with city managers, Public Information Officers, and other city leaders. We enjoyed having Jon participate.”

During the two-day workshop at USC’s Bedrosian Center, attendees heard from seven world-renowned guest speakers on topics ranging from the soft skills involved in leadership to affordable housing policy and demographic projections. “Whether you’re a citizen, an elected official or a consultant, it’s always beneficial to learn the details behind the issues and challenges cities have to constantly address and overcome,” said Jon Barilone. “My thanks to Frank Zerunyan and the rest of the EXED Forum organizers for welcoming me into the cohort and for lining up such a diverse and interesting set of guest speakers.”

“At Tripepi Smith, we are making it a point to get more of our team members involved in the USC Bedrosian Center’s Executive Education two-day program,” said Ryder Todd Smith, President at Tripepi Smith. “They do such a great job imparting knowledge and encouraging brainstorming around local government policy issues, which makes us an even more well-rounded asset for our local government clients. Thank you to Frank for opening his doors to us; we will definitely share the opportunity with our networks.”
