TS team attending MMASC

Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith is attending the Municipal Management Association of Southern California’s (MMASC) 2020 Annual Conference from October 26-29, 2020. Joining Ryder is Saara Lampwalla, Melanie James, Karen Villasenor and Sara Madsen.

“The Tripepi Smith team is always excited to attend the MMASC Annual Conference,” Ryder said. “We will miss seeing everyone in the conference rooms, but we can’t wait to connect with these public servants  through the screen instead.”

Tripepi Smith is involved with two speaking slots in the program:

  • Oct. 27, 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: Ryder will facilitate a panel on Risk Management 101 with the California Joint Powers Insurance Authority
  • Oct. 29, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m.: Ryder will facilitate a discussion with Facebook and Nextdoor representatives about emergency alert platforms and public safety features of these tools.
  • Oct. 27 and 29, 5 – 6:30 p.m.: Tripepi Smith will host networking happy hours featuring chat roulette experiences in small groups

Ryder will speak in the “Emergency Alerts: Not Just Nixle Anymore” presentation, along with Head of Public Agency at Nextdoor, Dan Parham and Politics and Government Outreach Team Member at Facebook, Jannelle Watson. The panel will share the capabilities of Facebook Local Alerts and Nextdoor Emergency Alerts, and how to best leverage these platforms.

The additional panel on Risk Management 101 will provide an executive review of the critical role the risk management plays in the management decisions of city managers and how management analysts can leverage risk management knowledge to add value to their organizations.

“I look forward to sharing the ‘stage’ with industry thought leaders and getting their insights shared directly with MMASC members,” Ryder added. “We have some excellent content that will boost the knowledge of attendees and give them tangible information to bring back to their respective agencies.”

The MMASC Annual Conference theme is “Transforming Public Service” to adhere to the recent evolving practices of public service. The conference sessions fall into categories that define its learning goals: lead and succeed, innovation and transformation, and tried and true. Tripepi Smith is a Platinum-Level Partner for MMASC.
