Tripepi Smith Delivers City Manager Spotlight Video for California JPIA

California JPIA logoSan Dimas City Manager Chris Constantin is the latest municipal executive to appear in a series of California Joint Powers Insurance Authority (California JPIA) member agency videos, produced in partnership with Tripepi Smith.

The video showcases the City of San Dimas’s exemplary efforts in risk management, led by Constantin, who joined San Dimas from the City of Chico in January 2021. He and his staff—including Assistant City Manager Brad McKinney, who chairs the California JPIA’s Risk Managers Committee—have actively engaged in the robust set of training resources offered by the California JPIA. In the video, Constantin discusses how San Dimas’s extensive parks and recreation activities and facilities, which include a full-service equestrian center and a golf course, present additional exposure for the city. He also shares how his peer city managers in the San Gabriel Valley welcomed him to the community and integrated him into local events.

Tripepi Smith Junior Business Analysts Josh Hernandez and Josiah Solis filmed Constantin’s interview at his city hall office and captured supplemental footage of the municipal center and other community landmarks. Principal Katherine Griffiths and California JPIA Senior Risk Manager Maria Galvan, who supports risk management efforts for the City of San Dimas, provided creative direction and subject matter expertise.

The video is part of a larger series that spotlights city managers whose agencies are members of the California JPIA. Each municipal leader discusses best practices in risk management, including important projects and challenges unique to their city. The interview format is supplemented with interior and exterior footage of the agency and surrounding community that are relevant to the narrative.

Tripepi Smith previously filmed Lakewood City Manager Thaddeus McCormack and Lemon Grove City Manager Lydia Romero for the series, in which city managers can hear from their peers, in their own words, the value of responsible risk mitigation and membership in the California JPIA.

“By recognizing high-achieving member agencies, the videos inspire agency leaders to learn from and to adopt the best practices of their peers,” said Griffiths. “This adds value for the entirety of the Authority’s membership.”

Constantin’s video will premiere at a San Gabriel Valley City Managers Association monthly meeting.
