Tripepi Smith Assists Clean Energy Alliance With Expansion Into Cities of Oceanside and Vista
Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) officially launched services in the Cities of Oceanside and Vista on April 1, 2024 bragging a 96.5% participation rate as of June 12, 2024. During this launch, team Tripepi Smith served as an essential partner, focusing its efforts on educating Oceanside and Vista residents about their new default power provider. CEA is a public, not-for-profit entity that presents an alternative power purchasing option to San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), and brings residents clean energy at competitive rates. Oceanside and Vista join the CEA member cities of Carlsbad, Del Mar, Escondido, San Marcos, and Solana Beach.
“We’re honored that Oceanside and Vista have joined us in our pursuit of a more sustainable future, and are grateful to have team Tripepi Smith as a partner at this essential point in CEA’s expansion,” said CEO Greg Wade. “Their years of experience with our organization and knowledge of communications in the CCA space have been fundamental in expanding our reach in North San Diego County.”
Tripepi Smith has supported CEA’s communications needs since its founding, including a successful expansion into Escondido and San Marcos last year with a 98% participation rate. The partnership encapsulates expansive marketing efforts, including a strategic communications plan, social media campaigns, mailer design, branding and graphic design, press release creation, ad strategy and placement, community outreach and more.
“It’s been inspiring to witness CEA’s ambitious growth over the past few years,” said Tripepi Smith Senior Business Analyst Sara Madsen. “This is our third launch with CEA and the process has only gotten better with time. Our solid partnership with CEA and City staff makes all the difference in meaningfully reaching residents and telling our story to maximize participation in this impactful organization”
The project team consists of Madsen, Senior Business Analyst Karen Villaseñor and Junior Business Analyst Kendall Lowery. Madsen is responsible for account and project management, strategy, coordination and creative direction for writing and design. Villaseñor provides project management leadership and strategy support. Lowery facilitates content development, website updates and project management support. Other Tripepi Smith team members have assisted with projects rooted in video production, photography, graphic design and more.
About Clean Energy Alliance
Clean Energy Alliance (CEA) follows a community choice energy (CCE) model that allows local governments to purchase power to meet their community’s electricity needs, offering an alternative to investor-owned utilities. CEA offers competitive prices and clean energy options while reinvesting revenues into projects and programs that benefit members’ communities.
CEA was established through a multi-agency partnership. This model enables local governments to purchase and manage their community’s energy supply. While CEA is locally operated, they work in partnership with the region’s existing investor-owned utility: CEA procures the electricity while the local IOU continues to deliver energy, maintain the grid, provide billing services and handle all new service requests and emergencies.
