Tripepi Smith Supports California Choice Energy Authority

CCEATripepi Smith has been engaged by the California Choice Energy Authority (CCEA) to provide marketing and outreach support.

CCEA, a Joint Powers Authority (JPA) formed by the City of Lancaster and City of San Jacinto, provides implementation and ongoing management support for local governments interested in forming a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program. CCA programs enable local governments to purchase and generate energy for their communities and offer an alternative power source to residents – while the transmission of the power remains with the local power utility company. Tripepi Smith will provide CCEA with an array of marketing and outreach support, including press release and article execution, access to the Tripepi Smith LocalGov Social Media Advertising Network, and market intelligence services.

“Tripepi Smith’s deep knowledge and expertise in the local government sector makes the firm an ideal outreach partner for CCEA. CCEA is already proving that its model works with cities like Pico Rivera, and we are looking forward to other cities joining our joint powers authority to facilitate their CCA goals,” said Jason Caudle, Deputy City Manager at City of Lancaster. “CCEA is for cities, by cities.”

From content writing and article publishing to ad design and ad placement, Tripepi Smith team members are combining a breadth of skills and knowledge to assist CCEA as they reach out to cities across Central and Southern California.

“While the CCA option has existed for several years, there has been a significant uptick in interest by cities. CCEA offers another choice for cities to implement a community-specific CCA program that ensures local control and empowers the city to cost-effectively execute on CCA,” said Ryder Todd Smith, Tripepi Smith President. “We’re eager to work with CCEA and ensure cities evaluating CCA at least consider the CCEA model.”

About California Choice Energy Authority

CCEA is a pioneering Community Choice Aggregation solution for cities in California. Formed through the experience of the City of Lancaster as it went through the launch of its CCA in 2014, the joint powers authority provides an innovative model that retains local control of utility services for cities who partner with CCEA while alleviating operational risk and administrative overhead associated with the implementation of CCA. CCEA’s joint power authority model is quickly becoming the gold standard for implementation of CCA by California cities.
