Tripepi Smith has announced that the technology-focused public affairs firm will renew its annual sponsorship of the League of California Cities for $5,000. Tripepi Smith’s support is directed at the Institute for Local Government (ILG), to help their expanded research on city use of social media and web-based technologies to better interact with communities.

“This past year, Tripepi Smith has led a series of 10 webinars on city social media use in partnership with the League of California Cities. Well over 200 city staff and elected leaders have benefited from this training series,” said Ryder Todd Smith, president at Tripepi Smith. “ILG is a thought-leader for city policy development, and we are honored to have our brand associated with their work.”

The Institute for Local Government was established in 1955 with the support of a Ford Foundation grant to promote inter-jurisdictional cooperation among local government agencies. Since then, ILG has often anticipated issues that would soon confront local agencies. Through its research capacity, publications and training programs, ILG continues to be a leader in addressing topics that ultimately become urgent public policy issues.

“We appreciate the renewed support from sponsors like Tripepi Smith to continue to assist local governments and their communities,” said Melissa Kuehne, Communications and Development Manager for the Institute for Local Government. “Every year, hundreds of local government agencies benefit from our work at ILG, resulting in adoption of good governance practices that create healthy, vibrant and sustainable communities.”
