MMASCTripepi Smith has renewed its annual partnership agreement with the Municipal Management Association of Southern California (MMASC) for the sixth year in a row. The firm’s support reflects its ongoing commitment to local government, and its belief in the power of local government associations to share knowledge and drive innovation at the local level.

Formed in 1953 to address the professional needs of local government employees and their private sector counterparts, MMASC is one of the oldest and largest associations of its kind in the nation. It is recognized by both the International City / County Management Association (ICMA) and the League of California Cities. With over 700 members, MMASC represents cities that serve an estimated 22 million residents. The membership is composed of city managers, HR directors, analysts, graduate students, interns, executive recruiters, private sector consultants, nonprofit managers, county administrators and special district professionals from local governments within a nine-county area of Southern California..

“MMASC has just completed a record year of growth with membership now approaching 800 members from agencies across Southern California. Between our active regions and four signature annual events held each year, MMASC provides options to learn, advance careers and connect with peers from the entire region. Partner support from firms like Tripepi Smith help make all this programming possible,” said Ashley Garcia, President of MMASC. “Tripepi Smith has been a strong partner with MMASC for six years, and I value the viewpoint they bring to the table. Many of our programming successes have been captured with amazing photography and their professional headshot services have been top quality. There is little doubt they are one of the top partners to local government in California.”

Tripepi Smith provides a wide range of marketing and communication services for local governments and private companies throughout California. With a staff of 12 associates and over 70 clients served in the last 12 months, Tripepi Smith has grown aggressively in the last seven years. Clients have found value in Tripepi Smith’s hybrid mix of marketing and public affairs, powered by contemporary technologies.

“Tripepi Smith continued to experience dramatic growth in 2017 and that was aided by our efforts to deeply integrate with associations like MMASC. Working with cities to help communities is a privilege we value, and being a partner to MMASC rather than a vendor is built into our DNA,” said Ryder Todd Smith, President of Tripepi Smith. “MMASC members are energetic, innovative and focused on how to improve their communities and the organizations that intend to serve those communities. Everywhere I look at their events, I see friends, fellow local government nerds and a bright future for our public agencies.”

In addition to MMASC, Tripepi Smith is a supporter of the League of California Cities, Municipal Management Association of Northern California (MMANC), California City Management Foundation (CCMF), Orange County City Manager Association (OCCMA), and the San Gabriel Valley City Manager Association (SGVCMA).
