Social Media News to Know: February 2021

  |   Insights   |   No comment

At Tripepi Smith, we know it’s hard to stay up to speed on social media platforms when they constantly change. You may not always have the time to learn about the latest and greatest social media trends (let alone the luxury of resources and budget to implement them). Instead, let us provide you with a regular roundup of social media news we think you need to know. Here are the stories that caught our attention this month:

  1. Facebook now allows users to set News Feed priorities or ‘Favorites’ to consistently see the same contacts at the top of their news feed.
  2. Facebook Ads has added ‘Detailed Targeting’ to the audience targeting capabilities to narrow down your audience by interests and previous purchases, instead of just age, gender and geography. Facebook has also added a ‘Call Now’ button to ads.
  3. Twitter is testing Twitter Spaces, which will give users the opportunity to participate in audio-only hosted chat rooms. These chat rooms can hold up to 10 users who can be invited via direct message, social media, text or email.
  4. Hootsuite recently launched Curate by UpContent that will allow users to find and distribute articles to attract more followers and provide thought leadership. It will automatically collect relevant articles and display them on your Hootsuite Dashboard for you to post.
