Tripepi Smith’s Always-Be-Learning (#ABL) culture drives us to stay up to speed on constantly changing social media platforms. This knowledge empowers our team to track, interpret and adapt to the latest and greatest social media trends on behalf of the public agencies we serve. The following is the latest installment of our regular roundup of social media news you need to know:

  1. Meta has introduced enhanced brand safety and placement tools for ads, giving businesses greater control over how their promotions are displayed on Facebook and Instagram. Advertisers now have the option to disable comments and prevent their ads from appearing on specific Instagram profiles, among other features.
  2. Instagram has launched profile cards, a simple way to share your account with others. With the scan of a QR code, users can see an account’s profile photo, bio and account category (if it’s a business profile).
  3. YouTube is rolling out ai-powered comment reply suggestions. The platform now leverages users’ past interactions to generate quick responses, making it easier for creators to engage with their followers.
  4. YouTube is also testing a new “Save” button for Shorts. This feature will replace the “dislike” button, and gives users the opportunity to create specific playlists and collections for their favorite videos.
  5. Along the same wavelength, Instagram is experimenting with a new “Social Library” saving feature. With more and more users sharing content via DMs, the platform hopes this will make it easier to find posts and Reels, you have interacted with or saved.
