Santa Clara County Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission Partnered with Tripepi Smith for SB 1383 Outreach
The Santa Clara County Recycling and Waste Reduction Commission (SCCRWRC) partnered with Tripepi Smith for communication outreach on California’s Senate Bill (SB) 1383 organics recycling requirements.
“We wanted to ensure these campaigns resonated with our community. Our goal was to make the unfamiliar understandable, and Tripepi Smith helped us do just that,” shared Kathryn Pisano, Environmental Services Manager at the SCCRWRC. “The team managed the many moving parts with ease and created impactful deliverables that reached jurisdictions, key industry groups, community organizations and others impacted by SB 1383 regulations.”
Tripepi Smith Senior Business Analysts Kaitlyn Wu and Kylie Sun and Business Analyst Madeline Wilson collaborated with SCCRWRC on two outreach campaigns to run simultaneously on the organization’s social platforms and website. One focused on educating residents about food scrap disposal guidelines, while the other informed self-haulers about related SB 1383 regulations.
The outreach effort included a variety of materials, including dedicated webpages, animated videos, flyers, a postcard, social media posts and bilingual press releases.
“Our goal was to create clear, engaging materials that help residents and self-haulers understand their role in SB 1383 compliance, said Kylie. “By combining education with accessibility, we aimed to make proper food scrap disposal second nature for the community.”
