Ryder to Provide Insights on Emergency Communications at CSDA Emergency Preparedness Summit
Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith will be moderating the “Developing an Emergency Communication Plan; The Importance of Incorporating Digital Communication into an Emergency Plan” panel at the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) Emergency Preparedness Summit on February 26, 2021 from 9:10 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. The Emergency Preparedness Summit is presented in partnership with the USC Price Executive Education Forum for Local Leaders and Southern California Edison.
“Major natural disasters in California have made it evident that public agencies need to be prepared with an emergency communications plan,” Ryder commented. “We sadly have a lot of lessons to learn from events over the last ten years, and public agencies who always want to improve will find lots to learn from our panel members. This talk will share tips and insights on the planning process and our experiences as a panel.”
Ryder will be joined by Paradise Recreation and Park District (PRPD) Manager Dan Efseaff, City of American Canyon Public Information Officer (PIO) Jen Kansanback, City of Vallejo PIO Christina Lee and Mesa Water District Water Policy Manager Stacy Taylor to discuss topics, such as communications platforms, working with several agencies, outreach tools and past experiences.
Update as of March 26, 2021: CSDA published recordings of the summit’s sessions to their YouTube Channel. Watch Ryder’s presentation below:
