Ryder to Discuss Enhancing Council Meeting Video at MMASC AC
Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith has been invited to speak at the Municipal Management Association of Southern California’s (MMASC) Annual Conference. In “Enhancing Council Meeting Video – Move from Mundane to Extraordinary,” Ryder will lend his voice to a discussion about key steps local governments should take in order to ensure their council videos are reaching a larger audience in an engaging manner. He will be joined by Dan Fenstermaker, a media services specialist with the City of Brea and Melissa Kuehne, the communications and development manager with the Institute for Local Government.
The “Enhancing Council Meeting Video – Move from Mundane to Extraordinary” panel will be held on Thursday, October 18 at 9:45 a.m.
“Cities invest hundreds of thousands of dollars in equipment and staff power to video broadcast their council meeting for the sake of transparency. Our panel will explore the idea of turning these council meetings into more compelling and digestible content for residents with a goal of increasing education and engagement,” said Ryder. “MMASC is a great venue to share best practices, and having Dan and Melissa on the panel will ensure the audience hears and sees some great ideas to bring home to their cities.”
Tripepi Smith has become a fixture at the MMASC Annual Conference. The firms hosts a major reception event every year and Ryder is a frequent speaker at the organization’s conferences.
