Public Water Agencies Group Launches TSA-Built Member Portal

PWAG is an informal association comprised of 17 public water agencies who provide various types of water service throughout Los Angeles County. When PWAG decided a web portal was needed to facilitate collaboration, Tom Coleman, Rowland Water District General Manager, turned to Tripepi Smith. Coleman had worked with Tripepi Smith previously for the Rowland Water District website and knew the Tripepi Smith team was the best for the job.

PWAG was first formed in the early 1960s to be a group where managers could meet to exchange ideas or discuss common water problems and solutions, and even cost share on resources. As the years progressed, though unintentionally, the group evolved as a litigating entity. Today, the group continues to be involved in administrative and regulatory matters, negotiations on ordinances and permits, and serves as a clearinghouse for legislative matters that impact water agencies throughout Los Angeles County.

“Tripepi Smith has consistently delivered excellent customer support and demonstrated high competency in all things digital media. I knew they would deliver exactly what PWAG needed while providing the optimal platform for our progress as an association.” said Tom.  “PWAG is proud of our new website and it was a pleasure working with the Tripepi Smith team. They were efficient, responsive, and professional.”

With all the current issues among public agency water suppliers, the group knew they needed a platform to securely share information, while keeping it simple and accessible for all of their agency members. Using the open source WordPress platform, Tripepi Smith, created the pwagroup.org website. The website is not only an informational platform, but it also provides a members-only portal to share documents among the 17 member agencies. The site is fully mobile-responsive, allowing members access on-the-go, along with being user-friendly and easy to navigate.

“PWAG is a great example of public agencies cooperating to save ratepayers money. Tripepi Smith has a solid history of working in the water industry in California, and it is one of many reasons water industry professionals continually partner with our firm.”  said Ryder Todd Smith, President at Tripepi Smith. “I knew PWAG was a great opportunity to create a platform that would not only serve them in the short-term, but also something that they could use as their association continues to expand.”

“As lead on this project, I am very proud to have delivered a website that will continue to serve PWAG in a cost-effective and timely manner. I enjoyed working alongside the PWAG team and look forward to continuing to help them with their website grow.” said Melanie James, Business Analyst.
