President Ryder Smith to Speak at CPRS Director’s Academy Summit
Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith will speak at the 2023 California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) Director’s Academy Summit on Thursday, January 19 in Los Altos.
From 3:15 PM to 5:15 PM, Ryder will present his session, “Crisis Communications: Be Prepared When Emergencies Strike”. During this two-hour deep dive, Ryder will tackle risk management, media training and how handling a crisis and creating crisis communication strategies can be simple. He will share tips and best practices that make the difference when preparing for emergencies.
“Being prepared before a crisis occurs is crucial for any organization,” Ryder commented. “With proper tools, a fleshed out strategy and training, agencies can prepare sufficiently to reduce the risk of saying the wrong thing or making a major communication misstep.”
This year’s Director’s Academy is focused on building core leadership competencies. It will include sessions on innovation, interpersonal skills, strategic thinking and risk management. To learn more about the summit and register, visit CPRS’ webpage.
