Tripepi Smith Creates Postcard and Bill Insert for Costa Mesa Sanitary District to Inform Customers about Upcoming Shift to Three-Cart System
In November 2023, the Costa Mesa Sanitary District (CMSD) collaborated with Tripepi Smith to create a postcard and bill insert to inform customers about the district’s upcoming transition to a three-cart system. With the new system, customers will have three carts – one each for landfill, recyclable and organic materials.
The mailer and insert were sent to CMSD customers to keep them updated on the transition, which is one step among many in CMSD’s compliance with the state’s Senate Bill (SB) 1383 that aims to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants.
“Tripepi Smith’s postcard and bill inserts have played a crucial role in CMSD’s communication strategy,” said Scott Caroll, General Manager of CMSD. “With the transition to a three-cart system, we’re introducing new initiatives to our customers. As we do our part to improve the recycling process, we are committed to engaging customers to proactively share information and provide answers to anticipated questions to try and make the transition as smooth as possible.”
The postcard and bill insert provide a comprehensive overview of the upcoming changes in CMSD’s curbside collection system. Through the use of bright colors associated with recycling and pictures, it serves as a visual guide for residents. Additionally, the inclusion of a QR code enables those interested to access additional details seamlessly.
“Through the postcard and bill insert, we were able to help CMSD effectively reach their customers with information on the upcoming transition,” said Kaitlyn Wu, Senior Business Analyst. “It was important to create something visually engaging and understandable so those who received the materials are aware of the coming changes.”
