TS-Produced Videos Spotlight Paramount Education Partnership Program

  |   News   |   No comment

The City of Paramount and Paramount Education Partnership (PEP) recently tapped Tripepi Smith to tell the story of the non-profit PEP program through a series of videos. In 2002, the City partnered with the Paramount Unified School District (PUSD) and Paramount Chamber of Commerce to increase educational attainment of Paramount high school students. PEP was born. With over a decade under its belt, PEP has helped Paramount student-residents improve their education and academic achievement by offering supplemental education programs and  scholarships for secondary education.

The Tripepi Smith team collaborated with current and former scholarship recipients and members of the City Council, staff, school district and school board members as well as local businesses and long-time sponsors to capture the full context of PEP’s beginnings. Over the course of four days in Paramount and Long Beach, Tripepi Smith interviewed key leaders of the program’s history.

“Tripepi Smith is our go-to communications firm,” said Paramount City Manager John Moreno. “The Tripepi Smith team truly understands our history as a community, the progress we have made, as well as the work still to be done. We are consistently happy with the work product of Tripepi Smith. Tripepi Smith effectively told the story of one of our most impactful programs–These videos will help spread the word about PEP so more of our community members can get involved. Tripepi Smith’s ability to change direction on a dime, whenever necessary, allowed us to wrap this project up quickly while remaining true to our original vision.”

Tripepi Smith created three videos: one spotlights the history of PEP while another promotes the program to high school seniors. The third encourages the support and donations of local businesses. All three videos will be used by the City to continue expanding the program at both the student and donor levels.

“The Paramount staff and community are a delight to work with,” said Ryder Todd Smith, president of Tripepi Smith. “For decades, the City has continuously sought to improve upon every facet of the community–the success of that work is demonstrated by the City’s PEP program. The partnership between the City, Paramount Unified School District, Paramount Chamber of Commerce, local businesses and residents has resulted in significant progress on the academic outcomes of Paramount’s students.”
