Jennifer Nentwig Promoted to Principal
Tripepi Smith is pleased to announce the promotion of Jennifer Nentwig, APR, to Principal, effective March 1, 2022.
“Jennifer’s promotion is a reflection of the advanced skills she brings to the Tripepi Smith team, including her leadership, team-building, and project management abilities,” said Chief Financial Officer Nicole Smith. “Tripepi Smith is a growing firm, thanks in large part to our leaders on the team like Jennifer. Promoting Jennifer and two other new Principals on the team positions us to continue to grow and expand into new opportunities.”
Jennifer has been supporting government organizations for more than 14 years and works with clients like City of Vallejo, City of Lomita, Pivot Charter School, Costa Mesa Sanitary District and City of Lancaster. She is an expert in strategic communications and public relations, having earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2015 through the Public Relations Society of America.
Jennifer brings a wealth of experience in crisis communications, media engagement, community relations, and website and social media management (with certifications in Facebook Blueprint Digital Marketing and Hootsuite Social Marketing). She currently provides strategic advice and leadership across an array of clients, including outreach efforts for numerous agencies completing districting and redistricting processes, as well as jurisdictions rolling out California’s new organics recycling requirements.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego. A graduate of the Defense Information School’s Public Affairs Qualification Course, she also is a major serving as a Public Affairs Officer in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. Her previous experience includes serving as an active-duty Air Force Public Affairs Officer, as a Communications Associate with the consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton, and as Communications Manager for the County of Orange.
With the new leadership roles of Jennifer and fellow new Principals Katherine Griffiths and Jon Barilone, Tripepi Smith is primed to continue its growth and expand its service offerings to clients. In the past year, Tripepi Smith has supported over 200 organizations with their outreach and communication needs. The firm has also expanded its services into the talent space with the creation of TS Talent Solutions. Its media group has expanded its footprint with the growth of PublicCEO and Civic Business Journal. Finally, with the recent completion of an acquisition, Tripepi Smith’s service in council chamber and event video production has grown dramatically.
