Indian Wells 2019 Financial PrimerTripepi Smith’s work on the City of Indian Wells’ Financial Primer has received high praise from residents, council members and City staff alike.

In a collaborative effort, Senior Business Analyst Cameron Grimm and Business Analyst Bria Balliet worked with the City’s finance department to showcase the City’s budget allocations and provide transparency on the City’s financial position. Cameron collaborated with staff on content and language while Bria created custom graphics to display information in a way that had the most visual impact. In each part of the effort, Team Tripepi Smith worked to make the primer easy to understand for all Indian Wells residents.

“I am very impressed with the work Tripepi Smith has done for us,” said Chris Freeland, City of Indian Wells city manager. “Bria and Cameron’s creativity and dedication made our vision come to life and the feedback from our residents has been overwhelmingly positive. Staff is also beyond pleased with the outcome, which is a reason we enlisted Tripepi Smith to produce an additional mailer focused on our newly adopted budget.”

Financial accomplishments to date for the City of Indian Wells include:

  • Long term fiscal accomplishments, such as new program-based budget formatting,  reduction of operating General Fund expenditures by $1 million and the establishment of funding for resident amenities
  • Economic development opportunities, such as the development of a 139-room luxury hotel and the remodel of the famed Sands Hotel
  • Strategic planning for the Indian Wells Golf Resort, which includes construction of an event lawn that will accommodate a group of 700 and implementation of sustainable overseeding practices on Player’s Course
  • Highway 111 and Cook Street improvements such as  the City’s logo mosaic and irrigation connection to mid-valley pipeline

“Working with the City of Indian Wells for the past year has been an exciting and fulfilling experience,” said Cameron. “The City has a lot to be proud of when it comes to their fiscal management and it was a great learning experience to help produce this primer and to be able to provide financial transparency to residents in the City.”

Tripepi Smith has also created ‘Budget at a Glance’ documents for the City of Cupertino.
