The City of Indian Wells called on Tripepi Smith to aid in scriptwriting of their 2020 State of the City and Veterans Day videos.

“Even though we cannot meet in person for our usual events and celebrations, keeping our City engaged is a top priority,” said Chris Freeland, City of Indian Wells City Manager. “By adapting our events to be completely virtual, we are able to continue the traditions that make our community unique. Tripepi Smith always excels at connecting with residents, and they were vital to making these videos come to life.”

The State of the City is released annually to discuss the progress made on Indian Wells’ goals and initiatives. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 State of the City centered around the City’s financial priorities, economic development opportunities, adjustments to resident benefits, public safety and housing.

Typically, the City also hosts a large Veterans Day ceremony at City Hall to honor and celebrate its veterans. This year, due to COVID-19 safety restrictions, the City opted for a video message to virtually commemorate the holiday. Five new inductees to the City’s veteran memorial were introduced and the City Council took time to thank veterans in the video.

“Keeping communities connected is crucial during this time and hosting virtual events is a move all public agencies should consider. It’s a pleasure to work with the Indian Wells team as they always aim for creative solutions,” said Senior Business Analyst Cameron Grimm.

Cameron leads the Indian Wells team, wrote the scripts for both videos and produced the introduction to the 2020 State of the City. The Indian Wells team then worked with Palm Desert High School’s Film and Broadcasting Program students to film the videos.

Indian Wells has been a client of Tripepi Smith since 2018. Cameron, Junior Business Analyst Sara Madsen and Junior Business Analyst Kaetlyn Hernandez work with the City on social media management, metrics reporting, graphic design support, website support, and news article, press release and newsletter development.
