Last month, Tripepi Smith Principal Jennifer Vaughn served as a speaker at the City of Hurst, Texas’ Leadership Development Academy, a monthly training program designed for City employees seeking opportunities for growth and professional development.

With the tagline “leadership is influence,” Hurst’s leadership development series is geared towards all levels of the workforce, not just managers and supervisors, and encourages individuals to confidently exercise their influence no matter their level or position.

“I am grateful to the City of Hurst for the opportunity to speak at this event,” expressed Jennifer. “One of Tripepi Smith’s core principles is ‘always be learning,’ and this was clearly demonstrated during the training session. The City’s commitment to the Hurst community and its employees is commendable, and I am confident they will continue to strengthen these communication channels.”

Jennifer’s “Connecting through Communication” training program was focused on enhancing workplace communication while focusing on audience analysis. She covered tactics for understanding an audience’s needs, preferences and communication styles to create meaningful connections and impact.

The training included practical techniques for tailoring messages, selecting appropriate communication channels and tips for adapting one’s approach to effectively engage diverse audiences. By engaging in interactive exercises and real-world scenarios, attendees left equipped with the tools needed to navigate various communication challenges and build stronger professional relationships. Kara McKinney, Public Information Officer for the City of Hurst, shared “Tripepi Smith’s insights into effective communication were invaluable and will undoubtedly help our employees enhance their professional relationships and communication skills. They truly do offer a one-stop shop for communication collaboration.”
