President Ryder Todd Smith and CFO Nicole Smith to Attend the CSDA Board Secretary/Clerk Conference
Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith has been invited to speak at the 2022 California Special Districts Association (CSDA) Board Secretary/Clerk Conference in Monterey, CA November 7-9. Chief Financial Officer Nicole Smith will be joining Ryder for the conference. In addition, Tripepi Smith will also sponsor the wifi as a continued effort to better connect special district professionals from across California.
The conference will bring together new and experienced board secretaries and clerks from all types of special districts to either earn their Board Secretary/Clerk Certificate or advance their knowledge of secretary/clerk functions in special districts. Conference breakout sessions will cover topics such as website requirements, public records processing, the Brown Act, elections, diversity, equity and inclusion, and more.
“The CSDA Board Secretary and Clerk Conference will provide Tripepi Smith the opportunity to strengthen our relationships with the secretaries and clerks that play an important role in special districts. These agencies provide critical services to California communities and are often unsung service providers for Californian’s quality of life,” said Ryder. “The CSDA places a strong emphasis on education that aligns with one of Tripepi Smith’s most important axioms: ‘Always Be Learning.’ I am honored to have the opportunity to continue promoting educated and informed public servants.”
On November 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Ryder will be presenting “Setting Your Agency Up for Success: Building Goals and Priorities.” In this session, members will learn how to establish organizational goals, narrow their focus on priorities and review the progress made on current goals to identify areas for improvement. From 2:45 p.m. to 4 p.m., Ryder will join National Demographics Corporation President Douglas Johnson to present “Into the Tsunami: The California Voting Rights Act, Redistricting and Board Elections.” In this session, the duo will use their extensive experience in redistricting and district formation to discuss the future impact of the California Vote Rights Act on special districts.
Tripepi Smith has been a top-tier Gold Level Business Affiliate member for the last two years. While Tripepi Smith team members previously attended other CSDA conferences, this will be the firm’s first CSDA Board Secretary/Clerk Conference.
