City of Placentia Engages Tripepi Smith for Writing Seminar Services
The City of Placentia recently engaged Tripepi Smith to lead a series of three-hour writing workshops.
Tripepi Smith Project Manager April Dávila, who received her Masters in Professional Writing, with honors, from the University of Southern California, customized an informative and engaging review of some of the basic, and not so basic tricks of professional writing. In addition, Tripepi Smith revised and updated Placentia’s official style guide, with the goal of getting, and keeping everyone on the same page as far as formatting written material.
“Tripepi Smith’s writing workshop provided our team with great tools to improve our written communications, from e-mails to staff reports,” said Steve Pischel, Director of Administrative Services and Community Services for the City of Placentia. “The three hours was well worth the investment.”
Writing clear, cogent copy requires acute attention to detail, passion for accuracy and intense aversion to wasted words. And good writing is even more important for those in the public sector. When dealing with a variety of readers (including residents, elected officials and vendors) it is crucial that written communications be effective.
“Local government, more than most sectors, requires constant communication both internally and externally,” said Tripepi Smith President Ryder Smith. “Concise and grammatically correct prose are an important part of effective written communications.
