CCCA SLOTTripepi Smith will kick off 2020 in Sacramento with a gig that has become a New Year’s tradition over the last seven years: taking photos for the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA)’s annual State Legislative Orientation Tour (SLOT).

SLOT, which will take place from Jan. 6-8, 2020, provides CCCA members with access to state legislators and valuable insight into how Sacramento functions.

Graphic designer and photographer Kjerstin Wingert will provide photography services throughout the tour to capture the three-day event’s discussions, briefings, luncheons and receptions. Kjerstin has photographed this event for several years.

“Photographing SLOT will be a great way to start off the new decade,” said Kjerstin. “This is one of my favorite Contract Cities events to photograph because it entails capturing moments of connection and deep discussion between state legislators and local officials. On a personal front, SLOT helps contextualize the important work our local clients do and encourages reflection on ways to coordinate for progress in the upcoming year.”

Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith, who has attended SLOT every year since 2011, will also head north with Kjerstin.

Tripepi Smith is Platinum Level Partner of CCCA. Over the past decade, Tripepi Smith has provided ongoing support to CCCA for a variety of services, including website support, social media coordination, event photography, management of the Association’s partner committee, and most recently in 2019, facilitation of its strategic planning meeting.

About the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA)

CCCA is a collection of member cities united for a common cause. Born in 1957 as the direct result of the “Lakewood Plan,” CCCA grew from eight contracting or member cities to 70 member cities today with more than seven million residents. Membership growth remains one of the main priorities of the Association. CCCA serves as a rallying point for cities contracting for municipal services to ensure constituents receive the best service at the minimum cost. Through municipal seminars, education, and exchange of ideas and information, CCCA combines resources to influence policy decisions that affect member cities.
