Tripepi Smith delivered three separate video projects to the League of California Cities (League) for its 2019 Annual Conference and Expo, which took place from October 16-18 in Long Beach.

The projects included a 10-part vignette interview series, an award recognition video for the Helen Putnam Award for Excellence and an award recognition video for the Beacon Awards, a program of the League’s partner organization, the Institute for Local Government (ILG). All three projects premiered during the Annual Conference General Assembly.

Team Tripepi Smith filmed the first project, the vignette series, throughout the League’s Mayors and Council Members Executive Forum in June 2019. In the videos, elected leaders discuss their passion for local government, goals for advancing their communities and how the League helps them deliver for their constituencies. Officials also spoke to the spirit of public service in tandem with the League’s mission to enhance and support their cities’ efforts.

The second video project celebrates recipients of the 2019 Helen Putnam Award for Excellence, which recognizes cities for initiatives that are positively affecting California communities and inspiring others along the way.

Lastly, the third project recognizes ILG’s Beacon Program participants. The program promotes local governments’ energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives by providing a system for tracking progress and resources for implementation. Recipient cities are determined based on community greenhouse gas reductions, agency greenhouse gas reductions, energy savings and natural gas savings as well as sustainability best practices. Together, the efforts of this year’s Beacon Award recipients created savings of $80 million in public health benefits.

Senior Business Analyst Cameron Grimm lead all three projects, scripting, editing and guiding creative direction on the videos while Business Analyst Saara Lampwalla supported Cameron’s efforts by co-managing pre-production and scripting efforts as well as providing production support. Additionally, Director Jon Barilone and Business Analyst Bria Balliet joined Saara in producing the vignette series during the Executive Forum.

“Tripepi Smith is proud to help celebrate cities and the elected officials and city staff who are working tirelessly to advance California,” said Tripepi Smith President Ryder Todd Smith. “Tripepi Smith is here to make a lasting positive impact and be an active partner across the local government community in California, supporting both cities and the associations that deliver for cities every day. The team at ILG and the League are great to work with, and it is a point of pride for Tripepi Smith to see our work showcased at the biggest local government gathering at the state level across America.”

Tripepi Smith is a proud Silver Partner of the League and ILG. The firm collaborated with the League and ILG on other video projects, celebrating Helen Putnam Award winners for the last four years (2016, 2017, 2018), the League’s 120-Year Anniversary and prior Beacon Award winners for the past three years (2017, 2018).
