Extend the Reach of Your Seminar with Video

  |   Insights, Marketing   |   No comment

There was a time when seminars and conferences were a one-shot deal. Untold amounts of time and money were invested, and at the end of the day, everyone shook hands and went home. Thankfully, with modern video production services, such as the ones offered by Tripepi Smith, there’s no longer any limit to the reach your conference or seminar can achieve. By engaging different levels of video, you can not only widen your audience (welcoming participants from all over the world), but also create a record of your presentations to reference over and over, all for a surprisingly reasonable cost.

The first option for extending the reach of your seminar or conference is streaming video. To create streaming video, recording equipment is set up in the crowd at your event so that the captured footage is similar to what one might see if they were actually in attendance. The presentation is broadcast in real time to anyone with the previously provided login information. With streaming video, anyone in the world can “attend” your event, and even ask questions through Twitter or Facebook.

The second option is the webinar. Webinars also take place in real time, but exist solely online. Participants log in at the designated time, often with a specific password, to watch a PowerPoint presentation on their computers, narrated by the host of the webinar. Though they lack the personal interaction of in-person events, webinars come in at a fraction of the cost of a conference or seminar presented in the real world. Depending on your goals, webinars can be an excellent video-supported option for gathering like-minded individuals.

Once executed, streaming videos and webinars can easily be converted to view-on-demand (VOD) segments that can be hosted and cataloged on an organization’s website. The implications of this simple feat are far reaching.

Say a water utility company wants to show citizens how to conserve water. They could host a costly seminar, or they could create a short video and host it on their website, so that anyone could view it at any time. Or perhaps your city has a training program for community volunteers. Instead of hosting seminar-style training sessions over and over, these classes can exist online for potential volunteers to watch at their leisure, while eliminating the ongoing expense of training. The potential applications of video are endless.

If you’re planning a seminar or conference, and would like to discuss options for video integration before and after your event, give us a call. Still not sure? Watch this video to get a sense of the services we offer.
